OCN Fast Track Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming

GroomArts Academy is delighted to offer the Open College Network West Midlands Level 3 Diploma in a Fast Track format for those that have the experience but desire a recognised qualification!

This course is invite only and designed specifically for those that have been working in the industry and want accreditation for working to a professionally high standard.

Our award-winning tutors will go through an initial assessment and if you appear to meet the required level, we'll help guide you through providing evidence to show your competencies.

This still allows us to help guide and support you to the correct standard, with multiple on-site assessments but vitally, the ability to reference prior competency in your day-to-day work. We will ensure that we guide you and build your knowledge, skills and confidence with well established learning material available before, during and after your assessment period with us.

This is a very intensive programme designed to deliver the best commercial results for those already with sufficient professional experience. It is advisable to book a minimum of one month in advance to give you sufficient time to access relevant material before you start the course and to start planning the referencing of your assessment material.

While you're with us we support you in building your portfolio and completing your assignments. But best of all: this course is based on professional competency!

What's the Difference Between the City & Guilds Level 3 Intensive and the Open College Network West Midlands Level 3 Diploma?

Both qualifications give you a Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming, but City & Guilds require you to have a Level 2 Certificate before you start Level 3. One of the main differences between these two qualifications is how they are assessed. The Open College Network West Midlands course assesses you on six theory-based assignments combined with several practical assessments on different areas of grooming throughout your course, with no final exam.

The City & Guilds Level 3 course is assessed on grooming techniques, some assignments, and a theory exam which can only be taken at two points each year. If you need to complete your City & Guilds Level 2 first, there will be more theory-based assignments and another exam to take before starting your Level 3 Diploma.

What you'll get

The confidence and skills to excel and grow in your own dog grooming business

Theory of 5 book by Melissa Verplanck to help with your shaping and styling

A professional GroomArts Academy certificate

An Open College Network West Midlands Level 3 Diploma

A Wahl equipment bag

Assorted grooming tools

We operate this course through a blended learning process. This will include an initial assessment on a Friday and then working over the weekend.

However, before, during and after your course you have access to our online learning platform to cover the theory knowledge.

The online learning and portfolio work is mandatory, as this time is logged and is essential in you achieving your Diploma.

Importantly, if we don't think you're suitable for the Fast Track Level 3 Diploma, we will suggest the longer term course as an option. We aim for the best standards and will always try to provide you with the same standards we expect.

What you'll need to buy

We require students to buy their own scissors so that they can get used to their own equipment. You do not need to buy these before you join us, we carry a small range or we can recommend where to purchase them. You use your scissors every day so invest in them!

All other equipment we will provide during your course.
